SLAPSTIK MAGAZINE A Good Laugh For the Abs
Kenny M, Hurricane Andrew and Antoine Black

Words cannot express how much fun I had at Paul Strong’s Comedy Showcase last night. From the time Jack Shepherd hit the stage to the time he left, he was hilarious. Ripping audience members down to exactly…what it was:  you wear a bandanna, you get cracked on you, got big breasts and your name is “Dairy”, you’re getting acknowledged. Hint: if you ever sit in the front PLEASE have your A-Game on! I must say Jack is a great host and last night was his funniest performance yet.

When Kenny M. hit the stage, well, he tried. He made a joke about having dark circles around his eyes when he was younger and the kids at his school who used to say he looked like a raccoon. It was funny because there had to have been some truth to it. But when Hurricane Andrew hit the stage, he was nonstop with the humor. His delivery was consistent and kept the crowd rolling. He was heavily sweating in his “chinchilla” sweater, which didn’t affect his delivery at all. Hurricane represented his name with his jokes that swooped in, around and back out. Next was “the headliner” Antoine who’d I’d describe as cool and extra animated on the pre-show interview on 107.5. I looked forward to meeting the T.I. look-a-like, but I should have known what it was when I didn’t see Misty Jordan in the Funny Bone crowd that night. He was compared to the looks of rapper T.I. but he doesn’t look much like T.I. at all. However, he was pretty funny too. I sat in the front, as I always do and I was his “show” girl for the moment, asking me for my phone number; which was part of his act, I think! At least that’s how I felt. I have to keep it real because that’s what we do here at SlapStik; Hurricane Andrew should have been the headliner last night. I’m not sure if Hurricane brought too much for Antoine, which, may have thrown him off a little-but wow, I gotta give it to Hurricane A!

The show was super entertaining last night. It was so comical that my eyes were fixated on the stage-I took very little notes. Everyone there really had a ball. Even the after party at Adobe Gilas was on point. People, take my word, please come out to Paul Strong’s Comedy Showcase on Wednesday nights, the show starts around 9:45pm, if everyone is on time! If Wednesday nights are impossible, there are plenty of shows throughout the week to enjoy a night at the Funny Bone Comedy Club.
